I think they could be just friends and this whole "reuninion/possible engagement" thing has gotten blown out of proportion.

IF the rumors are untrue than it's great they are still friends and can still be in eachothers company.

BUT (here's hoping) if they are together then maybe they are taking friends along because they want to play down the rumors somewhat and keep their relationship ambiguous to the press.
