I agree. I mean, these people are overtly leaking, overtly playing games with the media, and also making a joke of William's reputation and they get away with it.

Why is there so much pressure on him?
It's already stable anyway. Kate isn't living with him, it's his public image/life that is unstable. As for pressure, the press wants a show, not a royal couple who does their duties, are faithful, with an enjoyment of family life. It's all about a soap opera. When I look at Kate and the trail she leaves, she's likely to leave a self destructive path in her wake. She wouldn't be content as Consort, her mother would be sure to try to get Kate to take over and since she's such a weak vessel, she might very well do it.
One of the things that appealed to many people i the beginning was how she was a normal middle-class girl but as soon as she left Uni she tried to be anything but and that was something personally annoyed the h**l out of me. We have seen her change into someone else right in front of our eyes

I loathe hypocrites too. Whenever I see an A-list actress become puritinical it strikes me as loathesome since everyone knows how these people get to the top of their 'profession.' All those torrid photos and she has the nerve to put on virginal airs. As if being a career woman makes you a whore, no matter how decent your personal life. As if not having a career makes you an innocent, no matter how many men you sleep with.
Very childish but then again, what do you expect from someone who never had class to begin with?
She might be very emotionally mature, but not psychologically and intellectually. If she were, she wouldn't be acting the way she is. Being smart doesn't make a person evil. Let's look at Marilyn Monroe vs Jackie O. Jacqueline was intellectual, liked art, and married well and lived responsibly, but she's demonized as a golddigger and Marilyn slept with JFK, slept with a lot of men, and didn't try to cultivate an intellect and was very childish despite everything that had happened to her and the things she'd done in Hollywood.
I know that a lot of people on her state that Marilyn was delving into serious acting, but she wasn't a realist and didn't look at the world realistically. She lived in a world of dreams, mentioning that while all the other girls were trying to make it in Hollywood, she was dreaming the hardest, not thinking. Being shrewed and adult and practical about your choices makes you a better person in my opinion. Jackie managed to raise her children in the spotlight, but without the addictions and scandals the other Kennedy/Lawford children got mixed up in.
It's about being responsible and Kate isn't.
I think she really is trying to keep a low profile to improve her lazy Party Queen image. She's only coming out with William or for some charity clubbing. Her family even arranged for a court order to get their holiday pictures removed.
As if that makes her some demure little flower, can't go out without a chaperone of her betrothed (haha) William. AS for the court order, I hope the press cross-sues pointing out the many times the family has leaked their whereabouts.
So far the press mostly claims she is so modest. Well, that's because she has every reason to!
The real charm of modesty is when someone actually has something to be arrogant about but is modest in turn.
