Great post Lady In Waiting!   Thumbs up

It could be seen as the press is doing the pushing, privately Kate and William could have an understanding that they aren't ready and are happy with the way things are, she is probably happy about the RAF time, it has been shown that when they are out of the public spotlight they are OK, Prince William gets antsy with the media spotlight and spending another year with seeing him on the weekends she can endure because when will Willliam have time to meet someone else? He won't and he doesn't like to be alone, him or Harry. That is why the always vacation with 10 people- Kate is probably excited because the more time they spend together, it will become inevitable for them to marry. William had a chance to break up with her and see what the world had to offer but he chose to go back to his safety net, William is lazy and is scared of being hurt with Kate he is safe and she is reliable and she will do what ever is needed to keep him happy - those are his issues. William is not getting married next year nor is he breaking up with Kate Middleton. console

As for the press pushing, I beg to disagree.  The press has turned their backs on Waity Katy for several years now - it's why the name Waity will unfortunately stuck to Kate Middleton.  I think the press no longer see Waity as someone who is the prospective bride.  She is seen as the on again & off again girlfriend of Prince William.  Nothing more & nothing less!  IMO the Middletons are again back to leaking such information because they know that they have a need to counterattack the negative Waity Katy articles for the past 2 years.  They need to point out to the public that Kate is still the potential bride - sort of "psyching themselves" into believing that this relationship will lead to marriage.  I think the Middletons especially Carole are a frustrated bunch as evidenced by her speaking to the press on the 1st week of December 2008 that she doesn't think that Prince William will ever proposed.  The Middletons have been riding into Kate's relationship with Prince William since day #1 & they're aware that Kate has turned into a laughing stock!!! The Middletons are desperate into making Kate a princess!!!

As for Prince William & Kate not ready:  I highly doubt that.  I think Waity will be a lot happier if she has that engagement ring & on the way to the altar.  It's been known that it bothered her that she's described as someone who just waits for Prince William.  So the point I'm making is that if it bothered her so much, why not do something about it.  Why not go out there & make something of herself?  She's not going to because she's in this mind frame that she has to be available for PW in case he calls for fear that he'll spend time with someone else IMO.  After 5 years & counting & the guy still not want to propose or not even close, what makes anyone thinks that he will?  I think Prince William knows exactly what he wants & he's just placating Kate right now.  But once he's in the RAF, I think we'll definitely see action & hopefully Kate will have enough class that Prince William has moved on.

As for Kate being happy about the RAF:  Article after article showed that she wasn't happy.  Her friends had confirmed that she herself was shocked, hurt & surprised that Prince William has chosen his career.  Not just a career but to be away for 4 years & 6 months!!!  IMO this is not the action of a man who is so in love with his girlfriend.  Because if he is so in love with her or thought of her as potential bride, then he should have proposed or married her a long time ago.

Ceridwen absolutely spot on.  Very good interpretation.  I have always believed that the sightings we've seen have been William's way of bringing it to a civilised end., or at least placing it on a more "just friends" footing.  It will be easier too for him some time later to be seen with other groups of friends. Though we'll probably see them together from time to time in the early part of the year but gradually these times will lessen.
