PRINCESS Beatrice’s prized BMW was stolen yesterday after she nipped into a shop leaving the keys in the unlocked car’s ignition.

Bea’s police protection officer went into the store with her.

But when the pair emerged the £15,000 Beamer had vanished, with passers-by saying it had been driven off at high speed.

Bea, 20, was said to be upset and “extremely embarrassed” over the theft, which took place in broad daylight.

Bea what was you thinking? obviously you weren't  Blink

I still check twice to make sure I have my keys in hand and then click the lock twice (it sounds like an alarm is set) in case anyone in the area is thinking...
"hey, I'd like a beautiful Mustang GT wrapped with Red and Black Leather".

No way am I going to make it that easy for someone to steal it.

and the bad thing is that her minders are with her to watch out for her.

It could have been someone who's been following her to see if they could steal it.  That is something they should look into for security purposes.

I have a nice car, nothing overly fancy but I take care of what I got and I work hard to make it last. Regardless, I always make sure the doors are locked with keys in hand...

I agree...it's like handing someone a present. Does she not think that people don't steal cars, let alone a royal's car? That's totally hitting a double jackpot.

I agree!!  I worked so hard to get my valuables and I treat them with respect in how I take care of them.

This will hopefully teach her a lesson.  Hate to be the person if they get caught with a royal's car.

you're right, accidents do happen.  i just can't afford for one day to loose my car.  It will be interesting to see if they find it.

it will be interesting to see what they do with the person who stole it in the first place, just because you leave your keys in the car doesn't give anyone the right to steal.

true,  it does make you wonder if there are car thieves purposely following the royals to steal their cars. might even end up being a big car theft ring.

Bea's stupidity is bad enough, but I can't believe her protection officer was dumb enough to leave the car running.

First driving lesson my Dad drilled into me was to pull the keys out of the ignition as soon as you park.  I've never locked keys in the car or left a car running.
