or maybe (rather certainly) the press couldn't find the guy (or he just refuse to talk to them) so they fry to find an relative of him (uncle/aunt)... this uncle knows as much about this story as my uncle living in China knows about all the details of my life.
The funny thing is that when the press has nothing about a story and wants to makes it A Story, they always have uncles or aunts to interview... no matter how distant they are to the main person.

Since yesterday the German "news" are talking about this video. Poor Harry, by now the "whole" world knows this video.

I feel sorry for him actually. It was an unwise thing to say but it was obviously meant as a joke or in a friendly manner not as a racist comment. Seeing as Ahmed (is that his name?) never complained 3 years ago I don't think it bothered him too much.

I agree. I don't think PH meant any harm & why make such a big deal 3 years later. What he said was dreadful but it's over & people should let it go. I think that man's father wants his 15 minute of fame.

I wonder how much money the papers paid to hear how much Ahmed's father was outraged?

http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/afp/090112/world/britain_royals_racism_leadThe father is acting all hurt, but then he turns around and calls Harry a coward. That's an insult as well. Should he apologize, too? I do not condone racism, and I also feel that Harry should face the fact that he is a royal rag doll for all to kick as they please, so he should really watch himself. On the other hand, I am also growing tired of the one-dimensional world. Euphemisms and word avoidance do not change attitudes. We see that in the business world (in the US, especially, I think): the "cleaner" became a "janitor", then a "hygiene worker". The fact that they have to keep coming up with new eumphemisms for it, tells us that words do not change attitudes. Besides, the meaning of what we say does not depend only on what we say, but HOW we say it. Tone, body language and attitudes, only the inner circle may know, contribute to the meaning of what we say. Sarcasm would be an example.

Yes Margharity, exactly! I know it was a stupid thing for Harry to say, but I do not believe he is racist. He has apologised and the Army is going to look into it. But you can bet certain sections of the Press will not easily let it go. Anything to get their hooks into the RF.

I think he should really get to the bottom of who released this tape and why.

I get the point about racism and I am not a racist. I am a realist. What do they expect of the people at war? Do they really think they spend their spare time sitting around a campfire roasting marshmellows while singing Kum Ba Yah? Disrespect to the enemy and foul language in a war zone will cease to exist right after foul language is no longer found on a construction site.

I see what you are saying Merry, but Ahmed was not his enemy. So for that argument to hold Ahmed would have to be on the opposing side for Harry to even remotely get away with calling Ahmed (out of earshot) a "Paki".
And yes it was three years ago I get that. But hypothetically if it happened yesterday and he had still done the good things he has done, would some of you feel differently about his use of the racist "nicknames"? And if so why?

personaly i wouldn't feel differently if it happened yesterday.
I am not saying it was right but the stupid thing he did is let himself be videoed doing it, but on the other hand it was a smart thing to do because if someone secretly taped him doing it it might not have been taken as a joke but rather, i am trying to get away with being racist with only our company without anyone else knowing about, it reflects in a way his innocence. The fact that he did tape it makes me think it was innocent, and that he speaks before he thinks, and also this may seem like an insult to our fair harry and i am sorry about that, but he isn't overly intelligent or a linguist and my guess is he says what makes others feel comfortable, that is why he is so good at working with kids, and the others, maybe not to Ahmed ok i agree, but he gets a feel for a group and he blends in, he doesn't cry himself to sleep at night like his father did in school.
Two wrongs don't make a right but how would a pakistani army company do with a brit or north american? Would they not have knicknames for them?
One of them even asked if his you knowwhat was ginger i mean that is CRUDE! I think it is safe to say that they feel safe in that company exchanging as they do.
I am sorry this happened in a way because i just hope and pray he doesn't over do the sensorship and lose that charm and connection he has with people.
Does Britt LaLa see anything on facebook from Chelsy about this? Or others around them?
