Amen... people call me Scotti all the time.... I call them Yankies or Canucks....

In the army men call one another Mucker... or Taffy.. or Mick.....or Jock...or Scouse....in the war years it was Tommies and Gerries..

My family get called Poms where I live in Australia, and my dad gets called a pommie bastard by his mates down the pub. We called them Aussies or Aussie bastards back.

Army investigates Prince's racist remark

Quote
Prince Harry's use of the word "Paki" about an Asian colleague is to be looked at by his commanding officer in line with "normal Army procedures", the Ministry of Defence has said.

So let me get this straight... Harry can be forgiven for his faults but William can't? Is that what you are saying?

So it was three years ago, and not yesterday, the fact remains that he said it, ON CAMERA, which he himself filmed! No it is not right for them to bring it up and act as if it was done yesterday because it wasn't, but I still think it is right that it is being taken seriously. What he said should not be shoved under the rug with no scrutiny whatsoever just because he went to Afghanistan and did work with Sentabale. Don't get me wrong it's great that he has done these things. But it does not make him untouchable.

And for people that think that it is perfectly ok for Harry to say these things and not be held accountable, well isn't that considered to be giving him special treatment? Just because he reminds you of his deceased mother?

Sorry it just doesn't seem right to me. Because he is his own person and an adult.

i think for William to be forgiven for big faults he will have to rise to the occation more than he has done

So what are his big faults besides the helicopter thing? Oh and dating waity?

He's never said anything racist, never worn a nazi costume a week before Holocaust Memorial.

And for the record when the helicopter thing happened I raked him over the coals for that just as much as I am disappointed in Harry for this.

i don't see any faults he needs to be forgiven for but i would hold him to a different standard if he made the same gaffs.
He is the heir #1 and #2 needs to put into action what i have explained above.
maybe it is best for us to agree to disagree because i feel strongly about this and i won't be changing my mind on it!  womby

What on Earth does this have to do with William? I see no connection. Perhaps I am confused as to why people are bringing him into this?  Blink

As for Harry, I am disappointed in him. I also know it was taken out of context, but he still needs to watch what he says.  unamused

But I am more interested in knowing who released this video, and why. It's almost three years old and I believe it was Harry's tape. Someone stole it from him? Very interesting that this comes out just after he (and Wills) moved their offices out of CH.

Also, a bit off-topic, but I have no respect for Perez Hilton. He makes a living off of trashing celebrities and selling ad space on his website. I didn't like him before, but ever since he started bashing children on there, I realized he is the scum of the Earth. I boycott his website.  unamused

That was taken out the context, imo! But Harry needs to be careful with this kind of stuff. What was a joke among friends sounded bad for others and him as a public figure is in a position where people use this situations to do personal attacks...

I agree.
And coming from the NoW and other newspapers from the UK which have written worse with their nationalist POV about immigrants  or people having a different religion other than protestant, this definitely is a joke!
When one knows someone or this person is one's fellow friend - like into the army - one could allows oneself to some jokes or kidding with a person. e.g. into the NATO Tiger Association, when their meet ends they do sketches kidding with their own cultural traits.

It makes me ticked as much as they did point out during the US presidential election Obama as the "black Senator" (without calling McCain the "white Sen." or as if they call an Asian individual as a "yellow (x)")... and then OMG got shocked because Berlusconi (as much as I am not a fan of him) - used the adjective "tanned". As if being "tanned" is pejorative nowadays or more shocking than identifying only a group of people because of their skin color or whatever. Roll eyes

By the way hasn't the Express been condemned recently ?

Really they should have a reflexive look at themselves at first before having the "b*ll*" to criticise someone.

I was watching the news yesterday and the uncle of the person Harry insulted had rung in to say that he and Harry weren't as good friends as the statements from Harry and CH have tried to make out...and the uncle had taken offence to Harry's comments. I think the person who Harry name called should be able to decide how offensive his words were or not.

Whether his comments were made in public or private it doesn't excuse them...but it can't excuse the fact that this is how Harry thinks. But this has been blown completely out of proportion...because that's the way the British media operates. And it's now a "racism row"...and the fighting for his country and the charity work he has been doing seems to have been quickly forgotten. And now there's Asian pressure groups saying how Harry needs to publically appologise and reach out to the Assian community...to be honest that seems quite far fetched to me.

Does everyone remember that this was three years ago that the tape was made?

Odd that this guy's uncle decides now, three years later, that it isn't just "right".  Wonder why now he has such an opinion............................ bored
