I have seen several of her dresses now that have that same basic design. Some are her new formals and then some are the new day dresses. This one has that basic princess cut that is supposed to be slimming to the figure. In this particular fabric weight it doesn't hang softly enough to drape into the Princess cut but instead fights the very purpose of the design and hangs OUT from her body, increasing her size if anything.
The blue horizontal trim at the bottom, again fights the basic design (albeit, repeating the collar trim) and again adds a cut making her appear if anything, less in stature. The color is good on her but the dress is not soft and attractive as the design was intended. I blame the fabric and that wholly unnecessary horizontal trim on the skirt.
I like her hat. I think it is well designed to lift her face and her stature higher, however again she has left her hair long and shadowing into her collar line. This is not attractive and creates what I would suspect is an unwanted "clutch" at her neckline. Aging, as is living, is an art and there is nothing more lovely than to see a grand matriarch wear both her years and her clothing with such an air of success that we all feel slightly clumsy in their presence. Point in fact would be Her Majesty that wears both her years and her clothing with such a graceful, confident air that the rest of us all aspire to be 80 and silvery.
I think Camilla would do well to lose some of the length of that blond and have her hair dresser gradually allow it to shimmer with a bit of silver. Silver hairs are marks of excellance and stature and not always to be hidden beneath a need to be young.
The shoes are a mistake. They need to be either skin toned or slightly darker for this season and that dress color.
Well now, that is my critic and my opinion of the clothing/style/appearance. Aren't you all glad you signed on tonight?
